11/21/24- The Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement and the Black Alumni Association at Saint Louis University teamed up to host the Black in STEAM Celebration and Awards Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. The event recognized seven individuals.
11/21/24- Ask, Listen Refer, a free online training to help individuals recognize and respond to warning signs of suicide is now available as a WorkDay Learning Module. This quick and accessible program is designed to equip individuals with essential skills in suicide prevention.
11/21/24- The Office of the Vice President for Research has several project-based, annual internal award programs open for application. All three have a deadline of Saturday, Feb.1, 2025.
11/21/24- The Center for Social Action, Campus Ministry, and the Immigration Task Force of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis will be hosting an event with Ruben Garcia. The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium in Cook Hall.
11/21/24- The Saint Louis University College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate DEI Champion Award is given to recognize a graduating SLU senior in the college who has made significant contributions to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
11/19/24- The Saint Louis University Black Alumni Association will host its annual Holiday Bash on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The event will allow for mingling with fellow Black alumni, students, faculty and staff.
11/19/24- SLU's Dance Festival is this weekend. The Department of Visual and Performing Arts will present the work of some of SLU's most exciting student dance groups all in one weekend.
11/19/24- Spectrum be upgrading its streaming service that supports the Saint Louis University campus. During the upgrade, there will be a Spectrum TV streaming outage on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. The streaming service will not be functional during this upgrade.
11/15/24- International Education Week, sponsored by the Office of International Services, includes events that invite the SLU community to view education from a global perspective.
11/12/24- The Emerson Leadership Institute at Chaifetz School of Business launched the Dignity-Based Leadership Development Series for the 2024-2025 academic year in the Fall of 2024. The next workshop, Fostering Dignity and Belonging, will be offered to the entire Saint Louis University community on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
11/08/24- ITS will be upgrading the Degreeworks application on Thursday, November 14, from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m.
11/08/24- The University community still has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on two policies The policies and feedback forms can be found on the Policy Program website.
11/08/24- Three University policies are now active after completing the University policy approval process.
11/08/24- Embrace the wonder of the holiday season at Saint Louis University during Christmas on the Quad on Saturday, Dec. 7. One of SLU's favorite traditions, Christmas on the Quad is open to all -- alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, family and friends.
11/07/24- Saint Louis University recognized its long-time employees at the 2024 Presidential Service Awards. A breakfast ceremony took place Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Wool Ballrooms at the Busch Student Center. At the ceremony, SLU saluted employees who have been at SLU for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years.
11/05/24- The Academy of International Business, Southeast USA Chapter (AIB-SE) held its annual conference on Oct. 24-26, 2024, at the Chaifetz School of Business on the Saint Louis University campus. The conference welcomed over 180 attendees from 28 different countries from around the world in academia and industry.
11/05/24- The Center for Social Action at Saint Louis University has received The Allstate Foundation's 2024-2025 College Service Grant. This funding supports the 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program, which provides grants to SLU students, faculty, and staff working alongside local nonprofit organizations to address pressing community needs. This year, a record-breaking 68 applications were received, and 18 impactful projects have each been awarded $1,800 in funding.
11/05/24- Free student tickets are available for the SLU Theatre and Dance production of "Three Sisters," adapted and directed by Associate Professor Lucy Cashion. The production runs Thursday, Nov. 14, to Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.
11/04/24- SLU.edu is getting a new look. After more than a year of work behind the scenes, the first phase of the refresh is scheduled to launch Wednesday, Nov. 13. On that day, visitors to SLU.edu will see a brand new homepage complete with new headers, footers, fonts and colors.
11/04/24- ITS will be performing maintenance on multiple systems. The systems will be unavailable for everyone during the listed service windows.
11/04/24- The Interprofessional Education Program at Saint Louis University is hosting its biannual poster symposium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the foyer of the Education Union.
11/04/24- The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies and the Crusade Studies Forum at Saint Louis University successfully hosted the Fifth Quadrennial Symposium on Crusade Studies from October 3-5, 2024, at SLU's Madrid campus.
11/04/24- The Studio Art Program is hosting an exhibit celebrating work by student artists. The celebration will take place on Friday, November 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the McNamee Gallery.
11/01/24- November is Native American Heritage Month and recognizes the history, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous Americans and their ancestors. To celebrate the month, the Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship will be hosting a celebration event on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Global Citizenship featuring the Dineh Tah' Navajo Dancers.
11/01/24- On Oct. 23, Career Services and 14 students traveled to Indianapolis for the 2024 Career Trek. This trip allowed students to network, visit a new city, and explore new opportunities.
11/01/24- Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to take part in the 2024 election. After the polls close, the Center for Social Action and the Student Government Association, are inviting members of the SLU community to attend a nonpartisan viewing party to watch the election returns across the country roll in.
10/31/24- In this presentation, Cristina Sanz, Ph.D., and Alfonso Morales-Front, Ph.D., from Georgetown University will discuss their language development research during short-term academic immersion abroad. The event will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at Morrissey Hall, room 0200.
10/29/24- Applications close on Friday, Nov. 1, for the Social Action Program and Trips over Spring Break. Trips go to New Orleans and the US-Mexico Border.
10/24/24- Bursting with energy, SLU alumna Tiffany Anderson, Ph.D. (Ed '94, Grad Ed '01), took to the stage in the Wool Ballrooms and talked about the importance of joy. Anderson delivered the keynote address at the Cannonball Conference on Thursday, Oct. 24. A packed crowd of SLU staff listened as the ebullient Anderson shared her presentation titled "Hardwired for Connection and Happiness: Mindset Matters."
10/24/24- The University community will mark the Solemnity of All Saints, a holy day of obligation in the Roman Catholic Church, with liturgies throughout Friday, Nov. 1.
10/23/24- Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and so is Turkeypalooza, Campus Kitchen's annual Thanksgiving food drive. Every November, Campus Kitchen receives donations of holiday food items that will be distributed to the St. Louis community. Donations days are Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Nov. 21st, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Reinert Hall.
10/23/24- The recipients of the 2024-2025 cycle of the 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program have been announced. After reviewing 68 record-breaking applications, a team of SLU faculty and staff has selected 18 projects, each awarded $1,800 to make a meaningful impact in partnership with local non-profit organizations.
10/23/24- The Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement is sponsoring 50 Saint Louis University students to attend the Facing Race Conference 2024. The conference will be Wednesday, Nov. 20, to Friday, Nov. 22, in St. Louis.
10/22/24- This October, support of Saint Louis University in the amount of $60 or more to the fund of the donor's choice comes with a gift. Donors can receive a pair of 2024 limited-edition athletic socks not available in stores or online. Contribute $100 or more to receive two pairs.
10/22/24- Physical Therapy students in the sixth and final year of their program need faculty and staff volunteers, who are considered to be mild foot over or under-pronators, to participate in an individualized foot and ankle evaluation and subsequent fabrication of a pair of foot orthotics.
10/22/24- The Pershing Fellowship in Nonprofit Leadership is a paid summer internship program in St. Louis offered by Saint Louis University. The application deadline is Friday, Nov. 22.
10/22/24- The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on a proposed new university policy. This policy addresses the University's obligations under federal law to create an accessible environment through reasonable modifications in its educational programs and activities to all students and employees who are affected by pregnancy or related conditions.
10/21/24- The Symposium on Bridging Disparities in Health Care Using Artificial Intelligence will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at Il Monastero. Registration is free.
10/21/24- The Cannonball Conference will be Thursday, Oct. 24. The conference will take place in the Busch Student Center. The keynote speaker this year is Tiffany Anderson, Ph.D.
10/18/24- ITS is planning a technology outage beginning Saturday, Oct. 26. Multiple systems will be unavailable during the outage.
10/18/24- Nutrition and Dietetics students are seeking volunteers for a 4-session personalized nutrition counseling program. The sessions start on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
10/18/24- This fall the Division for Mission and Identity at SLU will offer the Friday Mass and Speaker Series. The guest speaker for November will be Patricia Bass, Ph.D., Director of the Jesuit Worldwide Learning Program.
10/18/24- Professional Notes is a round-up of awards, presentations, papers, and other professional achievements of SLU faculty, staff members, and students.
10/17/24- Several international business students were honored recently at the 2024 Boeing Institute of International Business Awards Ceremony. The annual Saint Louis University event celebrates the achievements of international business students in our community and the positive impact they have within the worldwide scope of business and leadership.
10/17/24- The Office of Graduate Education Fellowships for the 2025-2026 academic year will open for graduate students in November. The application period for the Dissertation Fellowship opens Thursday, Nov. 1, and the Diversity Fellowship and Presidential Fellowship open on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
10/17/24- Saint Louis University will commemorate OccupySLU with a series of events. During an opening reception on Tuesday night, the documentary "Occupy SLU A Look Back" premiered.
10/15/24- Saint Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis invite researchers to apply for the 2025 Collaborative Administrative Data Research Award. The purpose of this award is to encourage new cross-institutional collaboration between Saint Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis in the field of administrative data research.
10/15/24- Enterprise Mobility and the Career Resources Center in the Chaifetz School of Business are announcing the 2024 Enterprise Mobility Case Competition. The deadline to register is 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.
10/11/24- The Saint Louis University Core will host Fr. Brian Christopher, S.J. at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in room 254 of the Busch Student Center. Christopher will lead a discussion on how to best infuse Ignatian principles into our students' community engagement experiences.
10/10/24- Saint Louis University will commemorate OccupySLU with a series of events the week of Oct. 14. OccupySLU started in October 2014 with six days of peaceful occupation at Saint Louis University's campus clock tower that included daily teach-ins and community conversations.
10/10/24- Saint Louis University's Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement piloted the Early Career Faculty Mentoring Program last year. In an effort to broaden the impact of the program on mid-career faculty, the DICE Faculty Mentoring Series was created for the 2024-25 academic year.
10/08/24- The Claver House Community Bike Ride event is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024. The ride will commence at Saint Louis University's Clock Tower and will go through the Ville Neighborhood.
10/08/24- The Academy of International Business (AIB) US Southeast Chapter annual conference will take place from Thursday, Oct. 24, to Saturday, Oct. 26. The event will be hosted by the Boeing Institute of International Business from the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University.
10/08/24- Members of the University community brought their pets to be blessed on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.
10/04/24- The Missouri deadline to register to vote in the November election is Wednesday, Oct. 9. Ahead of the deadline, the Center for Social Action will be on campus registering voters and sharing information about voting.
10/04/24- The Institute for Translational Neuroscience 3rd Annual Research Symposium will take place in person on Friday, Nov. 1. The keynote speaker is Michael Salter, Ph.D., M.D., a senior scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children and Professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto. In addition to the keynote address, there will be talks by several prominent Saint Louis-based researchers, a poster session, and a reception.
10/03/24- The Saint Louis University School of Education is hosting a screening event of the award-winning 2023 documentary "The Right to Read." The screening will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the Tegeler Auditorium.
10/02/24- Following a robust series of committee meetings, the Saint Louis University Board of Trustees held its first meeting of the academic year on Friday, Sept. 27.
10/01/24- It's hard to dampen Saint Louis University's spirit. Although steady showers Thursday and Friday got SLU's 2024 Homecoming and Family Weekend off to a wet start, skies cleared for Saturday and Sunday, and crowds enjoyed more than 30 events, rain or shine.
09/30/24- The Office of Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships is currently accepting applicants for the Truman and Goldwater Scholarships. Both scholarships require a campus endorsement for submission, and the deadline is Sunday, Dec. 1.
09/30/24- Saint Louis University will celebrate Ada Lovelace Day on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Ada Lovelace Day aims to increase the profile of women in STEM.
09/30/24- Flu shots will once again be available to all students, faculty, and staff on the three St. Louis campuses throughout October.
09/30/24- The office of Summer and Extended Studies is once again offering the winter session, a shortened term that provides students an opportunity to take undergraduate for-credit courses toward their degree completion during the University's winter break. Registration will open on Monday, Oct. 14, and will close on Monday, Dec. 9.
09/27/24- The Faculty Senate held its annual Kickoff Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 17. During the ceremony, the Senate handed out The John A. Slosar Shared Governance Award and the Dr. Norman A. White Award for Engaged Scholarship and Service to members of the faculty.
09/27/24- A red-tailed hawk is now soaring through St. Louis again thanks to the quick action of a SLU maintenance worker. Thursday afternoon a small crowd gathered outside Salus Center to celebrate the release of the hawk. The hawk was able to take flight after spending two months at the World Bird Sanctuary recovering from injuries.
09/26/24- The Doerr Center at Saint Louis University's School of Social Work will host two upcoming events led by Jennifer Mullan, Psy.D., founder of Decolonizing Therapy, that invite participants to explore the intersections of colonization and mental health.
09/26/24- Saint Louis University Career Services invites students to the fall 2024 Etiquette Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024. The dinner will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the St. Louis Room at the Busch Student Center.
09/26/24- Saint Louis University paused on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the fall 2024 Wellness Day. A number of events were planned on campus for members of the University community.
09/26/24- The SLU Theatre and Dance production of "A Raisin in the Sun" runs from Thursday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at The Grandel. Free tickets are available for SLU students with ID, beginning one hour before each performance.
09/26/24- World Wide Technology Day at SLU will be Tuesday, Oct. 1. The day will feature networking sessions, a fireside chat and more.
09/24/24- The 2025 Literary Award programming will be kicking off with the Campus Read novel, Colson Whitehead's "The Underground Railroad."
09/23/24- Saint Louis University Libraries, Wash U Libraries, and St. Louis City Libraries will hold a panel discussion on Saturday, Oct. 26, examining the rise in book bans and the implications for libraries, librarians, and intellectual freedom.
09/23/24- The Intelligence Community Scholars Program is an academic recognition program for students wanting to pursue a career in the Intelligence Community. IC Scholars have opportunities to apply for designated scholarships, internships, and career trips to Washington DC and other areas.
09/20/24- The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking undergraduates from the College to apply for the inaugural year of the ambassador program.
09/20/24- SLU’s “Banner Self-Service” and “Internet Native Banner” (INB) systems will both be unavailable for everyone from 12:01 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, until 9 a.m.
09/19/24- A memorial concert to honor the life of Kenneth Smith, M.D., pioneering neurosurgeon at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Sheldon Concert Hall. Smith died May 21, 2024.
09/19/24- The fall Mission and Identity Book Club selection is "The Sparrow," by Mary Doria Russell. To take part in the book club, register by Monday, Sept. 30.
09/19/24- There will be no undergraduate or graduate classes on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the fall 2024 Wellness Day. A number of events have been planned on campus for members of the University community.
09/19/24- The Office of Mission and Identity will host its next Mass and Speaker series event on Friday, Oct. 4. The event will focus on the Apostolic Preference to accompany young people in the creation of a hope-filled future. The guest speaker will be Paul Lynch, Ph.D.
09/19/24- The second annual Gwendolyn Ruth Peiper Endowment for Music in Medicine celebration featuring piano performances by current Saint Louis University School of Medicine and Music Program students will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
09/17/24- The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on two proposed new university policies. The policies relate to principal investigators and capital equipment capitalization.
09/17/24- As a way of expanding the opportunity of our successful Innovative Teaching Fellowship program, the Paul C. Reinert, S.J., Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning is calling for applications for the Ignatian Teaching Fellowship. The program supports faculty in designing a new course or undertaking a significant redesign of an existing course in one of three categories.

09/16/24- Career Services will be hosting students in Indianapolis on Wednesday, Oct. 23, through Friday, Oct. 25. Students will have a chance to meet with employers, network, and more.
09/16/24- The March 2020 pivot to online instruction might be a distant memory, but disruptions are increasingly becoming part of academic life. The Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning seeks to tackle the issues with online learning in a new workshop series that starts Friday, Sept. 20.
09/13/24- The Studio Art program of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Saint Louis University invites the SLU community to the opening reception for the annual Invitational Art Exhibit. The opening will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, in McNamee Gallery, located in the lower level of historic Cupples House.
09/13/24- This September the School of Education invites the SLU community to come together to celebrate National Literacy Month with a cultural literacy book drive. This book drive is aimed at promoting reading and supporting literacy programs in St. Louis-area schools.
09/13/24- Twice a year, in March and September, Workday, SLU's integrated, cloud-based administrative and finance system, releases feature upgrades designed to increase functionality and enhance the user experience. The next update is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21.
09/13/24- In October all faculty and staff at Saint Louis University will receive access to the annual required training on harassment and discrimination. All faculty and staff (including full-time, part-time, adjunct, and medical campus employees) will receive an email message from external sender Vector Solutions alerting them to the presence of the module.
09/12/24- The W. M. Keck Foundation has awarded past grants to major universities, independent research institutions, and medical schools to support pioneering biological and physical science research and engineering, including the development of promising new technologies, instrumentation or methodologies. The internal deadline to apply for this program is Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.
09/10/24- A hands-on Gen AI workshop at Saint Louis University, organized by the Research Computing Group at SLU in partnership with AWS, will be Thursday, Oct. 24. This event, titled "Transform Research with Gen AI on AWS," is designed to provide the higher education community with foundational knowledge and practical experience in implementing Generative AI for research.
09/10/24- The National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program proposal may request up to $4 million from NSF for either the acquisition or development of a research instrument. The internal deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 13.
09/10/24- The National Academies of Science, Engineering & Medicine is now accepting applications for Jefferson Science Fellowships. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at 4 p.m.
09/10/24- The Studio Art Program at Saint Louis University is seeking entries for its Themed Community Exhibition. This year, the theme is "Folly."
09/10/24- First-time Paralympian Sarah Adam, OTD, assistant professor of occupational science and occupational therapy at Saint Louis University, returned to campus on Monday, Sept. 9, after winning a silver medal.
09/06/24- Two new SLU freshmen on SLU's chess team, Grandmaster Nikolozi Kacharava from Georgia and Women's International Master Mariam Mkrtchyan from Armenia, will be representing their respective countries at the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary. The event will run from Tuesday, Sept. 10, to Monday, Sept. 23.
